The removal by way of ASBO etc of the marauding yobs on bicycles who break into cars and commit crime is essential. One particular family lived on the former council estate by the shops should be removed asap. This might improve things. There should be an immeadiate stop to any further building of new houses in Long Ashton.

I felt unable to complete Sections 4 and 11. I would like to see an expansion of activities for sport and leisure and the community generally but Section 10 Nuisance Behaviour must be the first priority. It has been happening for a long time and still persists. it has affected the History Society - electricity vandalised leaving us in the dark for 20 minutes; caterers for a function harassed when delivering food for a private event; burning of the trees at the bowling green and missiles thrown over the hedge onto the bowling greenwhile play was in progress; dents in the walls of the comparatively new pavilion and regular harassment and damage; eggs thrown at members of the short mat bowling club and all over the carpet. general damage to the community buildings especially broken windows. Motor bikes ridden across the football pitch at high speed andangering children playing in the area. Blatant theft to be seen when shopping in the Co-op which could jeopardise our shopping facilities in the future. The fact that the Junior Football Club will not play on the local pitch due to dog mess is scandalous. At present a community park would suffer from the same problem in addition to vandalism. Thepolice have proved ineffective in dealing with these problems. Their response time is too long and people who report nuisance rarely feel satisfied with the action or non action against those responsible. I enjot living in Long Ashton and my only regret is that a few people are allowed to mar the pleasure of the majority. I don't want to see money wasted and people who have devoted a great deal of their time to the community disappointed.

Q 2.03 speed cameras - not chicanes or road huumps. More frequent police patrols at evenings and weekends to prevent vandalism and intimidation.

At time of originally completing this form I felt very safe in Long Ashton. Last night my partner was attcked outside Picolo's fish and pizza shop, and now I am reluctant to use the local shopping facilities. The incident occurred about 10:30 on Sat 25th November. We had been to Twickenham for the day and on our return the taxi dropped him at Picolo's while I continued home. He ordered the food, read the paper while waiting and on leavong someone acused him of laughing at his mate and punched him. He now has cut and swollen lips, and is understandably upset. We have not reported this incident to the police since he cannot give a description of the attackers. My partner is a placid, friendly personand although we had been drinkingthere is no way he would have provoked the attack.
