As a single person of 64, many of the issues do not concern me directly. Long Ashton may be better admininstered from Bristol, who may view LA as one of its vital green areas. Disappointed by infrequent bus service. Some buses which go down the bypass could go through the village. Minibus to park and ride would be useful. Some pavements narrow, but no space to widen. Would support local employment for local people. Nothing seems to happen from Neighbourhood Watch now, although there were meetings and leaflets to begin with. Strongly in favour of facilities for youngsters. Could the traffic lights at the Park and Ride be turned off when the P&R was not running.

Backwell swimming pool not open at convienient hours for working people. All evening sessions are booked by clubs or classes. Better recycling facilities for garden rubbish. I would not mind paying for a green wheelie-bin as used in some schemes within Bristol Better electricity supply for the village. The new hosuing has put extra pressure on grid, resulting in a high frequency of power cuts in the winter period, esp at times of peak demand. Traffic lights at the end of the village nearest Bristol to enable cars to actually get out of the village at peak times.

1) Perception amongst amny is that the Parish Council appears to be toothless in that it recommends to North Somerset who then ignore it (often) The P.C. shouls have more power to act upon its own decisions - or otherwise be discontinued? 2) For many years traffic lights have been desirable but are now essential. At the junction of Long Ashton Road with Ashton Rd/Clarken Cooombe. A major accident is waiting to happen here. Also at the Junction of Ashton Road with the LA By Pass - above the Dovecote. 3) It is necessary to put steps/ramp from the new education car park to Church House 4) A School sign with arrows is essential to direct school traffic down Copford Lane. At present Heavy Delivery Lorries come down and reverse into Gardeners Walk 5) New 20mph signs have gone up for the Barratt Estate which incorporate the words "Richmond Park" (which it is not) this confuses Delivery Drivers
