Definately a cafe. What about a Secondary School?

more neighbourhood watch at Ashton Court end security cameras would make us feel safer Encourage team sports, eg running clubs cafe/deli would be good Co-op updated, with healthier foods

Rec - The area aound the Co-op and Recreational Ground is felt to be extremely unsafe for any age to use. Shopping area - The whole central village area around the shops is in need of attention and would benefit from some resurfacing, planting etc A central Deli/Cafe would be useful for both young families and the older members of the village Additional litterbins

more reliable cheaper bus service another doctor's service a bank cheaper supermarker larger post office cafe larger library better maintained roads - too many pot holes

Central cafe a good idea Mums & Todlers things to do in afternoons Way of hearing about local jobs easily Way of connecting between young families and elderly

In five years my children won't need the facilities. Young have been requestion changes for some time to no avail. Make effective change for youth a priority. Surprised over 65s only 20% of population. Facilities appeal to this 20%. There is a rift between areas of the community. Cafe facility would bring community together

Problem is quantity NOT speed with fraffic. Park and Ride is at the wrong end of the A370. It should be before the car share lane. Traffic calming will not stop queues in the morning. Cafe and accommodation would be an excellent idea. Co-op car park should be cleaned up and used. Providence Lane: Please put double yellow lines on the blind corner below the 'Retreat' Pub (just above Hebron Church). Every day there are problems with parking around the corner - very dangerous.

would like a central point in the vilage to enable people to meet: a small seating area, around a focal point/monument; with a cafe: a source of community whereby meeting & socialising are easy.

Positive action to remove youths from Co-op at night times Quality Cafe/Bistro Required Quality Supermaket

Clear foliage from footpath between Ridgeway and Long Ashton Road. Cafe and more shops. Village web-site that emails those who sign up with info on village events. Trees planted in streets to green them. North Somerset providing kitchen waste boxes with handles of a size you can easily keep in kitchen.

More home-owners parking in driveway not on road. Wider footpaths Decent cafe for couples and mothers to meet. A bank We hope the roads are resurfaced soon as they are in extreemly bad condition No more houses until there is better infrastructure to leave and reach village.

In next 5 years I'd like: Farmers' Market : GP practice providing early morning, early evening and saturday services : a delicatessen/cafe : green open spaces, not more development - we moved to Long Ashton for green open spaces : safe cycle lanes into and from Bristol, Backwell & Nailsea : cultural events like Pindrop Band in Church House.

The existing scout hut is out of date and possibly unsafe. It should be sold and proceeds put towards building a new one with some land in L.A. Scouts covers activities for pub. teenagers youth club issues and is already v. successful it could grow even more with new premises it would also show commitment to the yp in L.A. We definitely need a café with outside tables (for summer) away from traffic. Ideally a healthy fodd trendy place but down to earth and not too expensive. This would double as a general facility + social meeting place for people who don't want to join an adult "organised" activity. There is no proper tennis club or coaching for young people aged 14 and over. If you're between 14 - 18 there is no suitable tennis pavillion altho' the courts are there.

Long Ashton is pleasant village to live in. A few 'problem' areas :- speeding traffic on main road, loitering near shops and park. More reasonably priced shops - less car use. Co-op improving, well stocked but bakery expensive. People have to drive to gatcombr Farm Shop or use trecherous pavements by fast road. Could Gatcombe supply fresh produce to Co-op? Cafe/ meeting place would be good for young mums. Parking at Post Office difficult and dangerous. Need signs to Northleaze School. Dog poo is major issue - irresponsible owners at fault.

Double yellow lines especially around new development modern coffee shop cafe delicatessen, newsagent, bigger post office, better supermarket, sports clubs
tagged with: cafe   post office   shops   sports clubs   yellow lines

An appropriately chosen cafe would act as an excellent central meeting place. Would feel anxious for residents close to the rec ground if area developed for BMX/motor cycling area (related to noise)

Facilities for disabled people, especially if they have a mobility scooter. It is impossible to use mobility scooters in LA because it's not disabled friendly. There are not any sloping kerbs. The pavements are very narrow. There should be more shops in the village to cater for disabiled people who cannot travel alone further afield and for the people who have moved into the new housing. Clubs for women on their own or married to make new friends. Seats at bus stops in the village. Disabled parking outside the Doctors. New glasses for drivers in LA because they don't seem to be able to read the speed limits of 30mph. Christmas decorations and lights plus a christmas tree, party for the residents of LA. We live in the dark ages here. Backwell and Nailsea have Xmas lights! Street lights are awful here at night, it is very dark. Cafe in the village to meet daily for a coffee and chat. There is nothing to invite people to come to the village or to stop for if you are driving through. What shops there are are too spread out. Bank, Taxi rank, hardware store, clothes shop, stationers, we need these shops in the village.

Cafe a good meeting point for all ages speed of traffic a concern
tagged with: cafe   traffic

would love double yellow lines opposite the entrance to Kings Croft - and also near the doctors' surgery to prevent parking on both sides of the road. There should be a community scheme to get people to park more considerately and to encourage people to use their garages more, not just for storage. The new estate looks like a car park. want more facilities as village grows eg cafe and more shops.

Road by new housing made narrower by parking Road between Cox's shop and Yanley Lane should be widened by using people's gardens to make traffic safer. Overhanging branches should cut and householders of those gardens billed. Cafe's in the past (Bistro LA) have failed

A cafe would benefit the village especially for people who are around during the day like young mums and people working from home. This would also help with residents meeting each other.

before and after school clubs , more provision for working parents a cafe/meeting place cheaper buses more proactive enforcement by council on dog fouling
tagged with: bus service   cafe   dog fouling

Much less building going on A nice cafe by the shops Parents being discouraged from driving their children to school The lovely area by The Angel/church maintained and not threatened with development
tagged with: cafe   development   traffic

Traffic calming on main road Double yellow lines by new research station houses cafe in village
tagged with: cafe   traffic calming   yellow lines

A cafe in the village may cause problems with youths
tagged with: cafe

Add a 'don't know' or 'no prefereence' tick box to all lines. Having a good cafe would add to the community. Backwell Swimming Pool is already very good, just requiring some refurbishment in changing rooms.
