q3.13 we are unaware of any cycle paths in the village q8.05 Yes especially with a pram! In particular the hedge along Weston Rd on he way to the farm shop gets quite overgrown in Summer q10.4 We have not had any reason to use the police service

2.03: The reason we think traffic calming is not a good idea is because of District and Planning decisions to allow extra housing extensions etc and reduce road widths, which puts extra cars on the road. People do not use their garages or drive-ways. An intergrated system of speed cameras would be more effective for reducing speeds and would allow for monitering habitual parkers of blocking roads. 8.05: We were told when the 'Birdwell' estate was built that the front wall should only be for small plants. Now we have large overhanging bushes especially in parts of Fenshurst Gardens and Bradville Gardens, making walking on the pavements difficult. This also blocks the view when driving. There are also similar situations on the main road. Large commercial vehicles parked in residential streets - often on the pavement. No one seems to be interested. Maybe an evening Police patrol would be a good idea.

A visible presence of police in the village would be dexirable from time to time but NOT just at trouble spots. Complained bitterly over appalling sign over Take-away shop. Poor taste (sign they mean, not food!!). Licence obtained under false pretences.

Need for bigger Health Centre police to be more active. Youths hanging around Co-op should be moved on Traffic calming especially along Providence Lane.

1 The play area by Birdwell School equipped with football nets and play equipment. The children this side of the village have nothing. 2 Stop parents driving into Hollis Close to pick up children from school or nursery. 3 More police. 4 Keeds Hall kept cleaner and the toilets, the place is a mess. 5 More shops e.g supermarket. Stop the hairdressers and estate agents, we have enough 6 Senior school built on the Research Station Land.

1. Any ways to decrease traffic flow in and out of the village at peak times. 2. Increase village "feel". 3. Decrease loutish behaviour. 4. More businesses to create jobs within the village (decreases traffic) 5. More facilities for older and younger members of the community. 6. Double yellow lines throughout Long Ashton/Weston Road. 7. Allotments great idea - more rural feel. 8. Better policing, especially for the Govers (Off-licence). 9. Put hold on building new homes as village cannot cope. 10. Must keep weekly refuse collection.

Proper health centre. This would also ease congestion at the bottom of Keedwell Hill. Doctors not managing now, what happens when all houses are filled? People shop outside village as there is no out of hours cash point except Co-op which charges. No banking facilities within the village. No extra police presence has been noticed; needed to call on various events eg football club, youth club, to be more visibile evenings. Around Co-op and village hall areas. Perhaps a walkabout to be more noticable evenings.

We do not feel the Community Police Officer is visible enough within this village. Additionally, on the 2 occasions we have sought his guidance we did not feel this was of any value. It is important to build more smaller local shops in order to maintain a community atmmosphere. With the growing percentage of young families, it would be a good investment to provide additional leisure facilities, again to maintain the community atmosphere.

Speed cameras on both Weston Road and Long Ashton road would be good. I am against the expansion of Bristol airport because of the environment. I don't like gangs of youths hanging around the shops and Rec. We need a local bobby on the beat who would know the people and the trouble makers.

I felt unable to complete Sections 4 and 11. I would like to see an expansion of activities for sport and leisure and the community generally but Section 10 Nuisance Behaviour must be the first priority. It has been happening for a long time and still persists. it has affected the History Society - electricity vandalised leaving us in the dark for 20 minutes; caterers for a function harassed when delivering food for a private event; burning of the trees at the bowling green and missiles thrown over the hedge onto the bowling greenwhile play was in progress; dents in the walls of the comparatively new pavilion and regular harassment and damage; eggs thrown at members of the short mat bowling club and all over the carpet. general damage to the community buildings especially broken windows. Motor bikes ridden across the football pitch at high speed andangering children playing in the area. Blatant theft to be seen when shopping in the Co-op which could jeopardise our shopping facilities in the future. The fact that the Junior Football Club will not play on the local pitch due to dog mess is scandalous. At present a community park would suffer from the same problem in addition to vandalism. Thepolice have proved ineffective in dealing with these problems. Their response time is too long and people who report nuisance rarely feel satisfied with the action or non action against those responsible. I enjot living in Long Ashton and my only regret is that a few people are allowed to mar the pleasure of the majority. I don't want to see money wasted and people who have devoted a great deal of their time to the community disappointed.

Q 2.03 speed cameras - not chicanes or road huumps. More frequent police patrols at evenings and weekends to prevent vandalism and intimidation.

At time of originally completing this form I felt very safe in Long Ashton. Last night my partner was attcked outside Picolo's fish and pizza shop, and now I am reluctant to use the local shopping facilities. The incident occurred about 10:30 on Sat 25th November. We had been to Twickenham for the day and on our return the taxi dropped him at Picolo's while I continued home. He ordered the food, read the paper while waiting and on leavong someone acused him of laughing at his mate and punched him. He now has cut and swollen lips, and is understandably upset. We have not reported this incident to the police since he cannot give a description of the attackers. My partner is a placid, friendly personand although we had been drinkingthere is no way he would have provoked the attack.

Parking is a worry as many white vans & builders ignore hazards such as parking within white lines on corners forcingdrivers to be on the wrong side of the road causing chaos! The police do not appear to be enforcing the law! Table tennis is good for youngsters to teach co-ordination & could be taken up at a youth club also many table tennis clubs open during one day a week and retired fit people enjoy this game playing mostly for fun.

Gutters and pavements need sweeping on a regular basis. The village is filthy. Parking. Something must be done about inconsiderate parking especially in Providence opposite Short Lane where cars and vans are permanently left on a blind bend and the brow of a hill. Also on the main road outside the new houses which are being built at the research station. Bouble Lines must be put at these locations before somebody is killed. Police to patrol on foot throughout the village especially at night to deter vandalism. Not just the main road but the side roads and lanes. Driving through in a Panda car does not address the problem.

more visible police patrols (on foot) not in fast cars

Traffic/parking enforcements - espicially around Northleaze School & surrounding roads Extended library hours Higher profile policing around village shops & better lighting in Co-op car park

I think that the village has deterioriated in the past 6 years that I've lied here. Prior to the new estates. Little is done about the youths who hang about or the vandalism that gets committed. I had throw a rock at my car which bashed the door in. I'm still waiting after 4 years for the police to come. We need a police presence, never mind a once a week "clinic" and radar speed traps. What would I like to see? NO more housing estates built. I notice that Weston Road near the housing estate always is obstructed by parked cars. I would suggest that double yellow lines be painted on Weston Road and that cars breaking the rules either be towed away or clamped. This is for road alongside the new estates - people who live there should park on their estate and not on the main road.

The speed of the traffic through Long Ashton is fine but the sheer volume of it more of a problem. 3.02 (better public Transport prefered) There should be more shops located at hte nailsea end of the village, with adequate customer parking. Parking is problem at the current post office area. Further housing development should be prevented. police present more at night.

want traffic calming in glebe road/yanley lane expecially during rush hours levels of theft high, police response disgraceful Yanley has never received the Mercury or Green garden waste bags, people should be asked if they want it, many of these questions as not elderly, with young family, do not feel I can afford more council tax to pay for various improvements and hope we can have low cost improvements that do not interfere with the village atmosphere
