Definately a cafe. What about a Secondary School?

1 The play area by Birdwell School equipped with football nets and play equipment. The children this side of the village have nothing. 2 Stop parents driving into Hollis Close to pick up children from school or nursery. 3 More police. 4 Keeds Hall kept cleaner and the toilets, the place is a mess. 5 More shops e.g supermarket. Stop the hairdressers and estate agents, we have enough 6 Senior school built on the Research Station Land.

I would like every child living in Long Ashton to be offered a primary school place WITHIN the village. As a non-driver, and a parent of 2 children under 5, I am forced to take 2 buses into Bristol to take my child to school, as I was unable to get a place at either primary school in Long Ashton. Many of the new residents with children, including myself, will hope that once moving to the village, they can become more involved with the community whilst attending a local school. This is impossible, as the Local Authority would prefer to pay for children to be 'taxied out' to primary schools in other areas, e g Dundry, which have no social or geographical links with Long Ashton, simply to fill places. Why should our children be victims of this inadequate planning? It seems unfortunate that Northleaze Primary has moved to a 'purpose built' site, yet has remained the same size, and is unable to cater for the LOCAL comminity's needs. A womens' football team and/or netballl team would also be good.

Funding of Lollipop person at school times to cross main road at bottom of Folleigh Lane, or better still a pelican crossing there. Pavement widening 107 - 109 Long Ashton Road as lots of children use this pavement to walk to school and it is too narrow.

Speed of traffic coming to new northleaze scool building from main raod is too fast partiularly taking into account the bends in the road. Speed limit could be reduce to 20mph, as near some other schools with warning signs.

Have our pavements and roads brought up to standard On the Lampton Road - Fenhurst -Elmhurst Gardens. Double yellow lines on corners to allow coaches to get round to school. Stop parking on pavements.

Concern about "ring-road" development Secondary school for Long Ashton Better maintenance of roads Larger primary schools#traffic calming

An increased police patrol presence or even a police station! Relocate Northleaze School to where it was before. No dogs.

More use of Northleaze School car park by parents and those working at the school rather than using Theynes Croft and Copford Lane to park. Very often parking on Copford Lane is dangerous.

I'd like to see the old Northleaze School redeveloped, retaining essential character of the buildings. Retention of exisiting facilities, including pubs and shops. Would be fantastic to have regular Farmers Market/WI market, similar to Nailsea. Local taxi firm? Suggest steps be put into the corner of the new carpark for Northleaze School to allow safer access for people using the carpark for events at Church House. Congratulations on doing this survey and good luck with the next phase. Some suggestions in survey are a good idea, but possibly not economic to carry out.

Rumours circulating suggest that the old Northleaze School has been 'sold off cheaply' to a housing association. Rumours suggest that the building will become a halfway house for drug addicts, thieves and paedophiles - near Church House, also used by children. Local planning dept should notify the village as to what is 'actually' going to happen to the building. If the local Council has taken a 'back-hander' problems as highlighted in the latest 'Panorama' programme would occur.
