Cox's Lane if frequently obstructed by brambles and nettles during the summer months. They are sometimes cut back, but need treatment with herbicide. The road surface of Long Ashton road (esp between Theynes Croft and the Angel) is deteriorating badly, it is especially dangerous for cyclists. It needs resurfacing, although it is not possible to do the whole stretch, maybe the worst parts could be repaired. What happened to the pond promised by the new estate developers? The population of the village is increasing, what are the chances of the return of a newsagents and butchers/delicatessen?

Long Ashton must definitiely remain administratively separate from Bristol. Not to do so would be the end of the green belt around Long Ashton. I also prefer the services offered by North Somerset. Secondly, parking on the main road is becoming a serious issue; in particular on the road outside Church House and the opposite side of the road because people are too lazy to walk from the new car park. A definite area for double yellow lines. Another area is the main road outside the new houses on the research station land. Again yellow lines nedded and this should be a problem for the developers to sort out. I trust they are going to resurface the road there once the houses are built.
