LA needs a new Scout Hut. Allotments would give people a chance to meet and enjoy a relaxed pace of life.

2.04: I would like to see double yellow lines down one side of the main rd through the village as staggered parking very much restricts vehicle movement. 3.05:would expense be covered? low charge? 5.01: Live in Keeds Lane, too remote! 5.09 youth + community worker.7.01 (recycling) n/a doesn't come to us! 7.06:Litter is kept ok by orderly, but people should be encouraged not to drop it!7.08: NOT in area around shops! 7.0i9 esp by bottle bank. 11.21: One day a week; what ages? youth club age would be good! 11.22: Surely we had the new club room. Who would fund and man this centre to control/monitor the young opeoples behaviour. 11.23: funded and manned by scout leaders and parents!! win win!! 11.15 fence the football pitch

Would like to see purpose-built scout HQ in village. Scouting integral part of village since 50s.Scouting offers full challenging programme, faith, community activities, social and personal development. Indoor climbing wall could be part of Scout HQ. Would like to know more about traffic speed action group.

Not sure whether it is useful to ask for 'opinions' on merits of various schemes, without providing background info. I am not really qualified to decide whether a 2nd football pitch is more needed than a scout hut. Presumably other residents will be suitably unqualified, which discredits the validity of the responses. Why can't the Scouts use the same venue as the Guides? Presumably their inner village site could be sold, and funds used for other purposes? Longer opening hours at Library. Continued opening up of rights-of-way/footpaths.

The existing scout hut is out of date and possibly unsafe. It should be sold and proceeds put towards building a new one with some land in L.A. Scouts covers activities for pub. teenagers youth club issues and is already v. successful it could grow even more with new premises it would also show commitment to the yp in L.A. We definitely need a café with outside tables (for summer) away from traffic. Ideally a healthy fodd trendy place but down to earth and not too expensive. This would double as a general facility + social meeting place for people who don't want to join an adult "organised" activity. There is no proper tennis club or coaching for young people aged 14 and over. If you're between 14 - 18 there is no suitable tennis pavillion altho' the courts are there.

Larger research stn building should be HOTEL. The Parish Council opposed plans for budget hotel and filling station opp Smyth Arms/Dovecote as petrol available at Sainsburys. Is this at odds with Park and Ride traffic? FOOTBALL PITCHES - some leagues demanding solid 6ft fencing around pitches - there have been problems at Nailsea. It is cheaper to hire established grounds with all facilities management and maintenance rather than DIY. NEW SCOUT HUTS - a matter for the scouts organisation rather than the council unless the scouts provide a visible contribution to the village facilities (help to keep tidy etc). At the moment their uniforms seem to be seen once a year at armistice day. COUNCIL SERVICE INFORMATION - surely the source is the parish clerk at 45 Long Ashton Road. Alternatively the library but council minutes are often weeks or months in arrears. When the council subsidised the end bay(s) of the Jubilee Pavilion it was inferred that it would be a regular source for information and discussion with council officials with a proper opening timetable. What happened to the proposed arrangement for such 'one stop shop' as discribed. TRAFFIC CALMING - already created by continuous row of kerbside parking in some portions of the main routes eg near Ashover House etc. CLOSURE OF TOP OF PROVIDENCE - a stupid idea whcih would isolate Failand etc from essential early morning services in central Long Ashton eg dentist, deposit of prescriptions and making appointments at surgery, newsagents and grocery. Resulting diversions via Belmont or Clarken Combe involve circa 3 miles travel instead of half mile via Providence and would also transfer extra traffic to main roads of village. BUSES - bus routes using bypass should be diverted through village, creating extra passengers and revenue. 364 would give direct access from Long Ashton to Clevedon, X1 to business area of Locking Road WsM (alternatively extend some 354 Nailsea servides to Clevedon). SEATING AREA - a lovely garden and seating area existed in community centre grounds allowing to fall derelict and replaced by skateboard facility, the latter was vandalised and its replacement is buried under a pile of earth and turf. TRANSPORT - a small bus once ran from Failand and residential areas but disappeared without trace! PARKING - double yellow lines needed where pedestrian curb/road access applies eg vicinity of surgery at corner junctions of Keedwell Hill/Rayens Croft Rd. CO-OP CAR PARK - clearly marked as a customer car park although some latitude given to the immediately local residents. Gather lighting was removed at request of the latter as after hours car breaking was taking place under its illumination.
