Horticultural Society

Help us Save the Flower Show

In common with other local societies, the Long Ashton Horticultural Society is in danger of folding. There is an urgent need to persuade a significant number of new, and especially younger, members of the villae commnity to join the committee and its helpters.

Currently there is a loyal band of supporters who help with many duties on Show Day, but at present the average age of the committee is well in excess of 70 years.

Thanks to the success of the annual plant sale, and the generosity of members, the Society's finances are, thankfully, healthy. As a result, this year the Society decided not to collect advance subscriptions at the annual show.

All decisions relating to the future will be made at the AGM, to be held on Tuesday 11th November.
